Conference Ratings Index
About CRI

A proposed method to determine who makes the post-season based on conference records.

The formula is simple.  Take a team's conference winning percentage and combine that percentage with their conference rating.  Once conference strength is weighted accurately against other conferences, you can calculate national standings.

College Basketball National Standings

Final Update for 2024: March 19, 2024

National Standings are based on Conference Weighted Win Percentage.  Big 12 and SEC considered best conferences this year, so they receive 100% of their conference win percentage.  Teams that are members of conferences with lower adjusted ratings, have their win percentages adjusted accordingly.  All teams in same conference are rated using the same conference rating.  From there, all that matters are conference wins and losses.

Based on CRI 6 teams should have received an at-large bid 6 teams should have missed.

Should have made:

1. Seton Hall.  Best team skipped.

2. Pittsburgh

3. UNLV

4. Loyola Chicago

5. Richmond

6. St. Johns

Should have missed:

1. Florida Atlantic.  Worst at-large bid.

2. Michigan State

3. Clemson

4. Dayton

5. Texas

6. Mississippi State
